Do you know the name of this Scottish game? It is Shinty

Shinty is a Scottish team game played with a ball and sticks mainly in the Scottish Highlands and cities of Scotland among Highland migrants. It was more widely popular in the past since was once competitively played in England and other areas abroad where Scottish Highlanders migrated to.

It is often compared to field hockey although both sports have several significant differences. In shinty, a player can play the ball in the air and use both sides of the stick, which is made of wood and slanted on both sides. This stick is called caman and used to tackle adversaries but players are not allowed to come down on an opponent's stick; this practice is known as hacking. Players can also tackle shoulder-to-shoulder.

This game has the same roots as the Irish game of hurling although they both hold different features and rules that are controlled by the Camanachd Association. Thanks to these rules, Scotland and Ireland play annual international matches.
